Boating, Kayaking & the Marina
On the Intracoastal side of the park, Ocean Inlet has a small county marina with 20 wet slips, a day-use slip, and kayak and canoe access to the Lake Worth Lagoon, all a short run from the Boynton Inlet and the open ocean.

The marina

Kayaking and paddling
The park has canoe and kayak access on the Intracoastal side, where the water is calmer than the inlet. Paddle the Lake Worth Lagoon along the shoreline and stay out of the inlet itself, where currents and boat wakes are dangerous for small craft. Wear a life jacket and keep to the edges of the channel.
Running the inlet
The Boynton Inlet is a popular route to the ocean for fishing and pleasure boats, but it has a reputation as one of the trickier inlets in South Florida, with shoaling, strong currents and tight clearances. In 2006 alone, more than 46,000 boat trips went through it and there were seven rescues. Time your run for slack tide when possible, watch the waves at the mouth before committing, and give other boats room.
Tips
Check the tide and the wind before heading out: an outgoing tide against an east wind stacks up steep waves at the mouth. Keep an eye on the weather; summer thunderstorms build quickly over the Gulf Stream.
